In my 30-year editorial career, I’ve worked as a newspaper reporter, magazine editor, proofreader, and corporate copy editor. As a freelance writer and editor, I’ve long focused on my true love — covering all things travel.

I’ve done just that — writing about family trips, girlfriend getaways, romantic escapes, outdoor adventures, and upscale resorts — for clients such as USA TODAY 10 Best, Matador Network, US News & World Report, The Denver Post, TravelAwaits, and FamilyVacationist, among many (many!) other publications and companies.

A few more tidbits about me:

  • One summer I sailed around Europe for 66 days as the Communications Coordinator for Semester at Sea.
  • The Vacation Gals, a blog I co-founded (and subsequently sold 9 years later), won Gold for Best Travel Blog in the Lowell Thomas Award Competition, the “Oscars” of travel journalism.
  • I’ve scuba dived in the Great Barrier Reef, heli-hiked in the Canadian Rockies, and jumped out of an airplane in Florida, but I count a 7-week road trip in BB the RV from Colorado to Maine (and back) among my favorite travel adventures. Ever.
  • I majored in English at Dartmouth College and spent a term in Mainz, Germany — a springboard for my love of travel.
  • I live in the Colorado Rocky Mountains with my husband. We have two young-adult children with whom we occasionally travel, but these days we’re largely hitting the road on our own!

Thanks for visiting my site! I’m taking on new freelance clients, so feel free to shoot me an email.
